Digital technology can enable firms to increase their productivity, which improves revenue and thus become more profitable than rivals. For example, some applications such as data analysis enable the human resource department to reduce the number of laborers and time spent on specific activities, which helps in lowering costs and time (Dery et al., 2017). Notably, digital technology helps in lowering labor costs through automation. In some firms, managers can track the performance of employees and thus eliminating the need for actual supervisors, which reduces costs. Such websites give actual results to the managers and therefore improves a cost-effective strategy. The managers in most companies, therefore, can use data provided by the experts to make decisions on the progress of these firms. Such data help in determining promotion decisions and identifying areas with weaknesses to improve on productivity (Dery et al., 2017).
Data technology can improve strategies of instructions and communication in both schools and work. Some tools such as Whatsapp, email, video conferencing, and chats enable communication of people in short and long distances. Also, these digital tools have enabled employees to work while at different locations. For example, a junior employee can work and send the results to the manager in an office in different areas without the need for traveling.
