Friction refers to the force that opposes relative motion between two surfaces that are in contact. Such effect can exist between layers of fluids, solids and fluids, or even between two solid surfaces that are in contact. Friction force can cause various impacts such as slowing down the motion, prevent a body from starting a movement, or stop a moving body. Static and kinetic are usually the two types of friction that act on objects. These effects significantly influence bodies obeying the three laws of motion that were discovered by Isaac Newton.
