What biotechnology did you select? Explain what it is and how it is used.
* Cloning is the chosen biotechnology in this study. Cloning entails the production of virtually identical copies of DNA of a biological entity either naturally or artificially (Fontes, 2013). Naturally, cloning occurs through single-celled organisms (Fontes, 2013). For example, bacteria produce through asexual production. Artificial cloning occurs in different types, namely reproductive, gene, and therapeutic cloning (National Human Genome Research Institute, 2021).
* Cloning has been mainly used and applied in developing treatments and understanding diseases in humans and animals (National Geographic, 2021). Treatments have occurred through the development of stem cells (Fontes, 2013).
