Self-Reflection I've attached my previous post Length: 600 words (+10% allowed) Format: Times New Roman, double-spaced, 12pt. Your project should have the title "WRIT1000 Assessment Four - Self Reflection for xxxxxxx" where "xxxxxxxx" is your student number. Please only submit Word documents (.doc or .docx). Turnitin does not recognise .pages files. If using sources, please also make a note of the referencing system you are using (MLA, APA, etc.) somewhere on the front page of your assignment. Thank you! Description: For your fourth assessment, we are moving away from the writing of your final project, and instead thinking about the process of writing itself. In this assessment, you are expected to reflect on your process so far, and to provide a brief commentary on some of your choices. Remember, WRIT1000 is framed around an ethical proposition ("it is good to write clearly") and an assertion about our professional identities ("you are in the process of becoming someone"). This reflection task is an opportunity for you to reflect on how your writing--specifically clear, effective, communicative writing--has been an active choice that you have made, and a choice that is helping you become a more professional and integrated person. In your reflection, you should answer the following questions: 1. How did I select my field and topic of interest? Does this align with who I hope to become in the future (either as a student or following university)? 2. How have you strived to be a more clear and ethical writer? Give a brief example from your submitted work and explain how it succeeds or fails to communicate clearly. 3. What has been the most interesting discovery I have made while preparing my final task? Why? 4. What have I learned in WRIT1000 that has shaped my understanding of writing? How might that impact my professional identity in the future? As this is a self-reflection, you should definitely use "I" and "my" etc. to show that you are reflecting on your own writerly choices. Please follow the above structure for your response. If you chose to include the above questions in your document, they will not count toward your final word count. WRIT1000 ASSESSMENT FOUR - SELF-REFLECTION FOR [YOUR STUDENT NUMBER] CHICAGO STYLE SAMPLE PAPER Your Name WRIT1000: Introduction to Academic Writing July 13, 2015 The reflection focused on the writing process and commentary on some writing choices. I will highlight why I selected the field and topic of interest and my efforts to become an effective and ethical writer. I will also outline key lessons from WRIT1000 that have influenced and shaped my understanding of writing. This will be reflected from the perspective of my professional identity and how clear, effective, and communicative writing is a personal choice I made to become a professional and integrated individual. Environmental issues have been central to global social, economic, and political issues. With the alarming rate of greenhouse gas emissions, deforestation, and climate change, there is a need to address these issues from an informed perspective. I chose the environmental science discipline, focusing on the impact of deforestation on biodiversity in tropical rainforests. The choice aligns with my aspiration to advocate for environmental conservation and sustainable practices. As the world is becoming more eco-conscious, there is a need for expert voices to guide how conservation efforts should be made. While growing up, I was surrounded by nature, and this experience created a passion for understanding and addressing environmental issues. A focus on this field merges scientific knowledge, conservation, and advocacy. All these fields align with my desire to change and improve society. I am confident that it will shape my future career journey and give me a strong foundation during these years as a student.[ADDIN CSL_CITATION {"citationItems":[{"id":"ITEM-1","itemData":{"author":[{"dropping-particle":"","family":"Schmink","given":"Marianne","non-dropping-particle":"","parse-names":false,"suffix":""}],"container-title":"Population and Environment","id":"ITEM-1","issued":{"date-parts":[["2019"]]},"page":"253-275","publisher":"Routledge","title":"The socioeconomic matrix of deforestation","type":"chapter"},"uris":["http://www.mendeley.com/documents/?uuid=03f3caba-455a-4044-b1c9-bb00de3285b2"]}],"mendeley":{"formattedCitation":"Marianne Schmink, “The Socioeconomic Matrix of Deforestation,” in Population and Environment (Routledge, 2019), 253–75.","plainTextFormattedCitation":"Marianne Schmink, “The Socioeconomic Matrix of Deforestation,” in Population and Environment (Routledge, 2019), 253–75.","previouslyFormattedCitation":"Marianne Schmink, “The Socioeconomic Matrix of Deforestation,” in Population and Environment (Routledge, 2019), 253–75."},"properties":{"noteIndex":1},"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"}Marianne Schmink, “The Socioeconomic Matrix of Deforestation,” in Population and Environment (Routledge, 2019), 253–75.] [ADDIN CSL_CITATION {"citationItems":[{"id":"ITEM-1","itemData":{"ISSN":"0343-2521","author":[{"dropping-particle":"","family":"Njoh","given":"Ambe J","non-dropping-particle":"","parse-names":false,"suffix":""}],"container-title":"GeoJournal","id":"ITEM-1","issued":{"date-parts":[["2007"]]},"page":"109-120","publisher":"Springer","title":"Politico-economic determinants of forestry policy in Cameroon","type":"article-journal","volume":"70"},"uris":["http://www.mendeley.com/documents/?uuid=0b1182a6-2b6d-42c6-b8c0-63ce386bdfc4"]}],"mendeley":{"formattedCitation":"Ambe J Njoh, “Politico-Economic Determinants of Forestry Policy in Cameroon,” GeoJournal 70 (2007): 109–20.","plainTextFormattedCitation":"Ambe J Njoh, “Politico-Economic Determinants of Forestry Policy in Cameroon,” GeoJournal 70 (2007): 109–20.","previouslyFormattedCitation":"Ambe J Njoh, “Politico-Economic Determinants of Forestry Policy in Cameroon,” GeoJournal 70 (2007): 109–20."},"properties":{"noteIndex":2},"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"}Ambe J Njoh, “Politico-Economic Determinants of Forestry Policy in Cameroon,” GeoJournal 70 (2007): 109–20.] The WRIT1000 course has been instrumental in improving my writing and communicative abilities. Through the course, I have worked hard to become an ethical writer, striving for effective, clear, engaging content. While writing my project, the proposal phase helped me utilize the academic structured approach, drawing from scientific studies and ecological data to support my arguments. Reflecting on the writing process, I believe my writing could have been clearer and more effective. A more effective writing would connect the ecological consequences to deforestation's social and economic drivers. While these gaps are apparent throughout the writing, I believe that I was able to communicate the urgency of preserving biodiversity and the interlinks between all life on earth. I made interesting discoveries through the writing process, particularly the association between environmental issues and human activities. Initially, I only focused on the impacts of deforestation on biodiversity and conservation. However, deforestation has far-reaching effects on human health, livelihoods, and political conflicts. Also, the underlying drivers of deforestation include poverty and economic hardship in certain nations. Due to these interconnected factors, it is important to approach the issues of biodiversity, conservation, and other components with holistic measures. This would ensure that risks are addressed in promoting biodiversity in tropical rainforests.[ADDIN CSL_CITATION {"citationItems":[{"id":"ITEM-1","itemData":{"ISSN":"0343-2521","author":[{"dropping-particle":"","family":"Njoh","given":"Ambe J","non-dropping-particle":"","parse-names":false,"suffix":""}],"container-title":"GeoJournal","id":"ITEM-1","issued":{"date-parts":[["2007"]]},"page":"109-120","publisher":"Springer","title":"Politico-economic determinants of forestry policy in Cameroon","type":"article-journal","volume":"70"},"uris":["http://www.mendeley.com/documents/?uuid=0b1182a6-2b6d-42c6-b8c0-63ce386bdfc4"]}],"mendeley":{"formattedCitation":"Njoh.","plainTextFormattedCitation":"Njoh.","previouslyFormattedCitation":"Njoh."},"properties":{"noteIndex":3},"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"}Njoh.] The major lessons from WRIT1000 have shaped my understanding of writing and its influence on professional identity. I have learned the importance of clear, effective, and consistent communication. Proper writing helps communicate ideas and arguments logically and coherently. The course also emphasized the ethical consideration of writing, underscoring the need for honesty, integrity, and accountability in academic and professional writing. These lessons will help me in my academic journey and future professional roles. I will be able to maintain clear and ethical communication to promote credibility and guarantee success.[ADDIN CSL_CITATION {"citationItems":[{"id":"ITEM-1","itemData":{"ISBN":"1999303415","author":[{"dropping-particle":"","family":"Gabi","given":"Controllah","non-dropping-particle":"","parse-names":false,"suffix":""}],"id":"ITEM-1","issued":{"date-parts":[["2022"]]},"publisher":"Altralogue","title":"Academic Writing","type":"book"},"uris":["http://www.mendeley.com/documents/?uuid=3eefdd48-3cc1-4b6b-a63f-25e920a79a81"]}],"mendeley":{"formattedCitation":"Controllah Gabi, Academic Writing (Altralogue, 2022).","plainTextFormattedCitation":"Controllah Gabi, Academic Writing (Altralogue, 2022).","previouslyFormattedCitation":"Controllah Gabi, Academic Writing (Altralogue, 2022)."},"properties":{"noteIndex":4},"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"}Controllah Gabi, Academic Writing (Altralogue, 2022).] [ADDIN CSL_CITATION {"citationItems":[{"id":"ITEM-1","itemData":{"ISSN":"2442-76...
