Germany is one of the fastest growing markets for foods in the world due to the increased opportunities for businesses in the food industry. Additionally, the country has consistent demands for food supply and improved economic model that creates an ideal environment for one to conduct food businesses in Germany. Many companies have seen increased profits over the years because of the aforementioned factors, and according to recent studies, the food market in Germany is expected to grow steadily because daily, people strive to live healthy while others attempt to live unhealthy, at the end of the day, it is the food business will succeed. Additionally, because of the busy schedules of Germans, many people do not have time to cook in their house, hence, opting to go out to eat.
Businesses depend on their external environments for them to be successful. The concept of context is divided into two: Meso and Macro environment. Meso environment refers to the environment sector in which the organization is working in. Usually, the business is capable of manipulating it.
On the other hand, when it comes to the macro environment, it is different, it is the one that influences the organization. Every organization has macro-environment elements that affect it, and these organizations also have some influence on these factors. Because of this, DESTEP analysis, which stands for Demographic, Economic, Social, Technological, Ecological and Political element of an organization provides more information on their influences on the organization. This paper seeks to use DESTLE model to analyze the aspects that affect café business in Germany concerning sustainability.
