Brand image is the perception that potential consumers have about a company. Building brand image is a crucial aspect of marketing to ensure an organization can stand out against competitors. Celebrity endorsement is one way of building a brand image. Celebrity endorsement is using a celebrity to promote the brand image to new customers.
In marketing, a celebrity is a person who has developed a community of more than one million followers who consider them experts in a particular field. Traditionally, they included athletes, musicians, actors, and TV personalities. With the emergence of social media, the list has expanded to include content creators who build a group of loyal followers on YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, etc. Celebrity endorsement has been an effective strategy that most big companies have used to develop brand loyalty among consumers (Zakari, 2019).
