The Lamb Enquiry of 2009 was established in the UK by the government to respond to the House of Commons Education and Skills Committee Report Special Educational Needs: Assessment and Funding to explore some ways in which parental confidence in Special Needs Education (SEN) assessment process could be enhanced. Therefore, its main purpose was to look at better ways of including parents by allowing the access of information and support for children. It also aimed at enhancing better home-school collaboration centered on learning. One of the shocking outcomes of the project was that parents experienced the prevailing system of education as unthinking and uncaring and it did not listen to them or take their concerns seriously. This paper aims at discussing whether the above statement is still an accurate reflection of the issues facing families today.
