While women perceive attractiveness by innate attributes such as small waist and symmetry, the socio-cultural environment is also increasingly influencing perceptions of beauty. According to the Tripartite Influence Model, people reinforce beauty ideals and transmit them through three major socio-cultural influences namely media, peers, and parents (Heyes 2016, p. 27).
