Introduction
The aviation industry may be relatively small as compared to other transport industries but its impact on climate change is very inappropriately large. This is because airplanes accomplish their duty of transporting large amounts of loads for thousands of miles by burning a huge amount of fossil fuels. The carbon emissions by the airplanes are by far the largest percentage compared to driving. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to explain the negative impacts of air travel on green house emissions and emphasize on the need to cut air travels. According to a research done by Brendon Sewill in 2003, each passenger in a plane throughout the world is responsible for adding over 300 kilograms of carbon emissions to the earth’s atmosphere CITATION Bre05 \l 1033 (Sewill 2005).
Thesis Statement
Air travel has a negative impact on climate change because it is the largest source of green house gases like Carbon dioxide which leads to climate change. Therefore, air travel does not work to reduce air pollution but rather increases the amount of air pollution.
