Introduction
In the recent past, the heath care practices have shown massive changes and improvement. There is an increasing trend to improve the wellbeing of the individuals at the grassroots levels. The focus has been on preventive and promoting health rather than on curative models (Beracochea, Weinstein & Evans 2011).This has dramatically led to a decrease in a population quotient seeking curative medicine and visiting the hospitals. The system entails a comprehensive programme organized by the caregivers, who visits the clients at their residence and asses any factor that may pose a risk to their health (Ivanov & Blue 2007)
This essay aims at critically assessing the value of home visiting, with close focus on early intervention and health utilizing the policy of fair society, healthy lives as Michael Marmot reviews it. Parse (2003) defines community as a group of people living within a specific locality, possessing similar ties in terms of culture, religion, and even housing conditions. A community visit will hence comprise a detailed assessment and diagnosis of all the risks in such a setting (Luker 1993). Proactive planning is undertaken and therefore counteracting morbidity and mortality rates.

The concept of health prevention comes along with a required commitment from the health care team. A quick assessment of the community health issues is necessary. The health care team will need to visit the area and do an evaluation of the physical, social, spiritual, and psychological aspects of health (Luker, Orr & Mchugh 2012). The addressing of the underlying gaps takes place with the inclusion of the client. Other health indicators evaluated includes the health care uptake rates, socio-economic status, and nutritional levels status (Basavanthappa 2008).
A couple of effects accompany the shift from curative to preventive care socially and economically (Lundy & Janes 2009). The once poor family that was consuming too much on curative care ceases to do so. The burden accompanied by escalating bills wears off and the community at large enjoys a malady free environment. People may assume to associate it with the lifestyle, but it relates to general health of a person. Adoption of this policy of health prevention will decrease the prevalence of mental illness emanating from inadequate awareness of health services offered (Byrne &Neville 2010).
The implementation of this policy faces a bountiful of challenges. These shortcomings need addressing in details lest they hinder its success. A common factor is the attitude of the community, who may fail to appreciate the programme. (Brown, Stewart & Weston 2002). However, the healthcare provider may try to convince them in owning the project but they may not appreciate it as is mandated of them. In such a situation, the healthcare provider should get into the community through the influential persons such as the main community decision makers.
