Analysis and Evaluation of the Geopolitical Impact of Terrorists Attacks: A Comparison of France with Other Threatened Nations (Essay Sample)
The task was to write a dissertation proposal about the Geopolitical Impact of Terrorism in France and other countries. Aside from proposing a structure for the dissertation, the sample explores the threat of terrorism with global implications to race, religion, and political ideologies. Within the theoretical context of the concept of Segmentary Opposition, the author argues that it is necessary to compare the related experiences of the French society with other threatened nations because it is through the process of comparison and contrast that effective and non-effective countermeasures to terrorism-related violence may be identified.

Analysis and Evaluation of the Geopolitical Impact of Terrorists Attacks: A Comparison of France with Other Threatened Nations
The much-publicized November 13, 2015 terrorist attacks in France by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria [ISIS] raise questions about its ramifications to the geopolitical policies of the country. In this aspect, it should be noted that terrorist attacks naturally tend to unite the people towards more stringent counter-terrorism policies in order to protect the society from future strikes (Nacos 2016). For instance, scholars studied the Israeli electorate in particular and found that elections held within a few months of a terrorist attack caused a noticeable increase in support for the political right (Shamir & Jones 2010). An important point to consider in this scenario is that a right-wing turn happened even within traditionally left-leaning localities.
