Analysis of Innovations and Creativity
Innovation is a concept that has to be converted into practical reality to assist in a particular firm's growth. Its purpose is to come up with new views on something to improve and generate impressive output. The innovator of the idea has to be very creative, where the individual can make something more valuable and useful. A creative person tends to imagine the possibilities and wonders of the world, indulging in those imaginations but remain in reality (Nakano & Wechsler, 2018, p. 240). The need to grow and develop has mainly been triggered and inspired by innovation. Delna described the source of innovation as the need to reduce and limit plastic pollution in the environment, and therefore she was considered innovative. It is an essential part of taking care of the surroundings and thus protecting from climate changes. The paper analyzes innovations as the quest and catalysts used in developments and new ideas of conducting business.
Innovation is crucial to attaining economic and social success in today’s globalized business world (Mohamed, 2019, p. 324). The innovator described the importance of taking care of the surroundings as the key to maintaining a healthy working condition. Pollution from plastic materials contributes to climate change; thus, a strategy to limit pollution needs to be put in place. It is important to take care of the environment because it’s only through the protection that provides more room for innovations. Innovation tends to be a continuous learning process. Delna claimed that, ‘the world needs better protection, as the people need to live in a peaceful place’. Engaging the audience is vital since they will offer feedback that assists in developing the innovation to better standards. The innovator critically emphasized the significance of involving the customers, and it is beneficial as it will the innovator to expertise his innovation. Being an independent innovator, she has an advantage where the visions and missions are bound together; thus, co-operations and flexibility work on her merit (Castañer, 2017, p. 60). She will have optimal access to resources as the plastic materials are readily available and within reach. Although the advantage, the downside of being an independent innovator is that, lack of support from the government. When there are few or less resources supporting creativity, it can be troublesome to manage. Tidd and Bessant contribute to innovation management by presenting a constructive innovation model comprising strategy, organization, process, learning, and networking. (Tidd & Bessant 2018, np)
According to Delna, coming up with a strategy of collecting the plastic materials and making jewellery happened to be an unpromising activity for several individuals. Many people did not believe in her idea, and thus being the main challenge, a brilliant strategy had to be in place. She described the importance of using readily available materials and delivering perfect results (Nakano & Wechsler, 2018, p. 240). Strategies tend to be an inspiration for innovation to satisfy the customer's needs and preferences. In meeting the demands, there is where plans come in and encourage new ideas. Reports indicate that new ideas are the fundamental base for a firm’s innovative capacities, depending on knowledge creation. The innovator has to come up with a plan of collecting the materials, the appropriate ones. According to her, not all plastics are capable of producing exceptional jewellery. She said, ‘materials are readily available, and time is the only resource needed.’ Thus a program has to be in place to exempt the unnecessary materials from mixing with the recommended ones. Tidd and Bessant described innovation as a process implemented in stages. The model explained innovation as a means of identifying solutions to underlying conditions. According to the innovator, the effectiveness of the process depends on the surrounding cultures.
Management’s practices and processes use team orientation to drive innovation. She termed the process as a gradual stage that needed more time to accomplish the concept. It could be faced with various challenges, but according to the innovator, ‘making it step by step gives ample time to face each challenge at its stage, and thus managing the new idea’. Process innovation may include innovations in products, meeting various customer needs, and probably using technological advancements in fulfilling the concept. It’s about implementing a new or improved product and delivery approach (Acar, Tarakci & Knippenberg, 2019, p. 101). Delna is making a new product out of current output, and this change the whole concept and the way the customer perceives the product. From the innovators perceptive, creating a new product in the market tends to be very challenging; thus, engaging different customers helps broaden ideas of making the jewellery to make overall customer's preference. The need to have a safe environment inspired her to collect and re-use the plastic, although bearing in mind the challenges of venturing into a new market. In a situation where the process fails, the innovator will have to start from scratch in bringing new ideas to come up with new innovative ways. The innovator commented on the importance of creating reasonable procedures to avoid cases of failure in implementing the concept.
Organizational innovation refers to developing new strategies within the firm that tend to change the practices and workplace organization, including the relationship with various external stakeholders. In this case, the innovator introduces new methodologies and comes up with a new product in the market (Castañer, 2017, p. 60). On inquiring Delna about the role of culture, she replied that culture plays a critical role in deciding the product's management in the new market. Reflecting on the costs of operations, Delna was asked on how much capital was needed, she reported that the innovation only intended to use fewer resources, only that time was needed in collecting the plastics from the environment. The innovator argued that the innovation was necessary to defend the surroundings from pollutions that come from these plastic materials. The creativity to develop such a strategy demonstrates the potential to perform better in the market despite competition from external forces. The most credible way for businesses to thrust for new opportunities and competitive advantage is having the concept of creativity and innovation. It is a dynamic process that needs implementation gradually. In today's competitive advantage, innovators' sole role is to come up with unique ways of doing business to fulfill the growing consumer needs. She claimed that demonstrating confidence in your innovations builds a sense of ability and strength, which is essential in pushing the agenda forward.
