Poverty is one of the things that scare most people around the world as it comes with it several conundrums that one cannot bare for long in their lives. When a person is poor it means that they cannot to live a normal/standard life like the rest of the population that has what they need in their daily life. A poor person in many instances lives below the poverty line and can’t afford basic lie wants such as food, clothing and shelter. This in real terms is a disaster to humanity which slows down development and social interactions of people in their daily lives. I chose to write about this topic because Education is one of the main pillars in man’s development and life improvement and as per the topic poverty is one of them that causes poor performances and leads to increased illiteracy in the society and slow development CITATION Buc14 \l 1033 (Buck, 2014).
This is because when a community consists of many illiterate people they cannot fully express their problems, interests or have a vision for their community as they lack knowledge of planning and execution of formulation of an agenda; “Students who live in poverty come to school every day without the proper tools for success. As a result, they are commonly behind their classmates physically, socially, emotionally or cognitively.” CITATION Yos12 \l 1033 (Yoshikawa, 2012 ) This means the progress of such a student is jeopardized and his/her future is in oblivion, for they cannot concentrate well nor have a motivation to push harder in life CITATION Jen09 \l 1033 (Jensen, 2009).
