Maryland solar panels
Maryland has been the home of the Orioles, Appalachian Mountains, warm and friendly beaches, and Chesapeake Bay. The nation has many beautiful sites for hiking and relaxing which has attracted many people to like the place after they visit it. The presence of the high voltage and modern solar panel has made the town more popular and attracted more people to live in it. The renewable solar energy has kept the environment of the Maryland beautiful. The installation of the solar panel in Maryland was promoted by the 2001 government’s law that mandated 6 % of the electricity used for building in the country be from the renewable energy sources such as the solar (Hantula, 19).
The 2001 law became the first Maryland governmental law to mandate the use of the renewable energy. In 2010, the country noted a reduction of 15 % in the energy usage due to the improved use of the solar panel. In addition, the nation has been pursuing energy alternatives aggressively with an aim of increasing the electricity generation up to 1250 megawatts. The goal was set in the year 2007 and is expected to be reached by the year 2015, the target also noted out that in the 15% energy target there will be more than 2% from the solar energy. Solar industries have also employed more than 1000 professionals which has reduced cases of unemployment in the country (Hantula, 19).
The product
Maryland is exposed to more than 5.3 kWh of solar energy per square meter. The nation had installed more than 50,000 KW of the solar energy by the year 2012 (Jha, 11). The country’s energy demand and high target in the renewable solar energy has promoted the development and the growth of the solar panel installation.
Product features
Solar energy can reduce energy cost for about a half. The reduced solar energy cost can also earn one a credit if he or she generates excess power from the peak before the power is sent back to the local power network. The availability of the product also promotes its development in Maryland this is because the solar panels are everywhere in the whole country. In addition, the solar energy is readily and easily deployed in the whole country because of its availability everywhere in the country. Parallel to this, the solar energy installation does not require expensive transmission lines which make them simple to install and to access in Maryland. The country also has an advantage because of its temperatures during the summer time, these high temperatures helps the country to generate a lot of solar energy per day which some countries cannot generate per year.
Product benefits
Solar energy has great benefits compared to other forms of energy. One of its great advantage is its ability to be renewed which is not applicable in other sources of energy such as the coal and petroleum. The product is very cheap to install compared to other sources of energy, this is because, the solar panels do not require the expensive transmission lines like the electricity (Jha, 11). In addition, the solar panels can be kept everywhere provided the area meets the simple requirements such as the roof sun exposure which is required to be facing west, east or south. Solar panels also needs between four to eight hours of direct sunlight per day which mostly vary with day length and season. However, the investors need to consult professionals in solar panel installation for them to get the best positions for their solar panels. The professionals will guide on the position into the relation with sun’s position. In addition, the solar energy professionals also guide the investors on their daily energy consumption and the roof inclination. These professional consultation benefits the production of solar energy in Maryland as it increases the energy production. The energy from the solar panels can also be used for illumination, ventilation, and as a backup power (Ferriter, 13).
Pricing
Solar energy can save up to 50% to 100% of the traditional electricity. Majority of the resident in Maryland have access to solar energy. The government through the relevant institutions governing the use of the solar energy in Maryland has ensured that more than the three-quarters of the country surface area have access to the solar energy. Although there are several factors that affect the price of the solar energy per watt, the Maryland government has reduced the price up to $ 12 for every watt installed. However, a complete installation of solar electric system which includes the installation cost and inverter can cost up to $ 50,000 (Jha, 10).
Due to high installation cost, the Maryland government has been giving people loans and incentives to enable them acquire the solar energy. Some of these incentives and loans do not have any interest in order to attract more investors. In addition, the state government also offers tax credit, rebates, and exemptions to fund people to acquire solar energy. Although the demand of the solar energy is expected to rise with the increasing population, the price of the solar energy is expected to reduce further. This is because, many institutions are coming out to support the use of the solar energy to minimize the use of the fossil fuels which are causing harm to our environment by giving out more incentives to attract investors in solar energy industry. The incentives also promote the citizens to use this solar energy in their homes (Hantula, 17).
Promotion
The solar industries have been using several channels for advertising their product. Some of these channels include the use of media like radio stations, television, and social media. These channels have been promoting the development and growth of the solar energy system not only in Maryland but also in the whole country. The advertisement channels ensure that each and every person is aware of the solar energy and that the users of the energy receive all the relevant news and updates concerning the use of the solar energy. To promote interpersonal relations, the solar industries usually hold meetings and open public talks to meet the people interested in installing solar panels in their houses and also to strengthen their relationship with the users of their product as they also collect their opinions to improve the quality of their products. Although the country has several solar industries they usually work together to ensure that they sell
