Tata Motors was founded in 1945 as a manufacturer of locomotives as TELCO manufacturers. It has over time evolved and started manufacturing sports cars, trucks, vans, buses and military vehicles. It also owns subsidiaries of Landrover and Jaguar which are known for manufacturing of luxury cars. Tata Motors has its headquarters in Mumbai and it operates as a member of the larger group of Tata group.
If Tata Motors wants to expand to the American market, these are some of the factors which favour it to be successful in American soil.
Strengths.
Tata Motors is a recognized brand, this will make it the entry strategy be simple and easy since the marketing cost will be expensive. Tata group also has stabilized earnings. This will make the financing for the new subsidiary easy and the success will be guaranteed. Diversified portfolios will also be a major boost for them in the American market. Customers will have a wide range of products to choose from. Tata also boasts of having a larger number of employees. As of 2016, the company had a total of 66000 employees, (Chandra 27). This labour force will ensure a continued production without delays to feed the new market with quality products.
