Crimes in Society: Causes of increasing street crimes in our society
The society has been transitioning from the early centuries, when it was sparsely populated to this 21st century where population has more than doubled. With the dense population comes the scramble for resources, which in most cases are usually scarce. Lack of access, to the resources, results to need of forceful or violent acquisition. In law, it is crime. "A crime is a wrongful act of such a kind that the State deems it necessary, in the interests of the public, to repress it; for its repletion would be harmful to the community as whole," (Durhaime.org)

The apparent judgment impairment caused by these drugs acts as an impetus that lures them into committing crime without fear.
Easy access to firearms and Television violence are other contributing factors to increase in street crimes in our society. Poor legislative laws by the politicians has led to infiltration of firearms into the society. Nowadays guns are easy to come by and in this era of Hollywood influence, on the blockbuster movies, which are always riddled with gunfights, screen violence, the young generation has become trigger-happy, like what they watch on screens. Thus, they resort to crime trying to adopt the lavish lifestyle they desire from the television without the interest of hard work.
