"Don't Panic" Essay
Nowadays, many people fear that the world will begin to experience a lack of resources and living space. In “Don’t Panic†the Swedish professor Hans Rosling shows the incorrectness of this opinion, and I agree with him. The population will continue to grow and the world will have three or four billion more, but in the second half of this century, rapid population growth in the world finally come to an end.
Rosling explained that those demographic factors that led to the global growth of the population in the twentieth century, gradually and steadily disappeared. Fifty years ago, the number of children born per woman was equal to five. Since then, this number fell to an unprecedented level in the history of humanity - only 2.5 - and continues to fall. This is due to a number of factors: the education of women, access to contraception and abortion, enhance of child survival.
The demographic impact of this fact is truly amazing. In the last decade the total number of children was about two billion, and the United Nations Population experts predict that it will remain roughly the same throughout the centuries. In recent decades, much has changed in the world is now different states can not be rigidly attempts to divide them into two groups. Many of the former "developing" countries are catching up another group at a pace that the differences are gradually erased, and between groups can no longer hold a clear bound...
