Autobiography
As an experienced educator, my priority is to be the best teacher for my students. My name is Ana Palestina. I was born and raised in Jalisco, Mexico, and I am the youngest child in a family of twelve. While I was still young, my parents unfortunately divorced. It was a very challenging time for me. However, I was able to learn how single parents operate. I am now a single mother of two children: Da-xia 13 and Ian 17, and my experience as a child has helped me become a better parent.
I believe that positive results can be achieved if there is a good relationship between the student and the teacher. My decision to become a teacher is highly influenced by the relationship I had with my first-grade teacher. He had a way of interacting with students that showed compassion and care. He believed in every student's potential and made sure the potential is achieved by helping and encouraging them as much as possible. Some people might have the potential, but they may not achieve it because of lacking support. My teacher was kind to everybody without any discrimination, and all these qualities made me realize that I also want to be a teacher.
Working as a general manager of a fast-food restaurant is one of my significant work experiences. My responsibility as a manager was to train employees and ensure all protocols are followed within the organization. However, I had one particular experience while working as a teacher that was very motivating to me. One of the people I have worked with is a 14-year-old girl who is physically challenged. This was a whole new experience for me, and I embraced it with a lot of positivity and enthusiasm as a professional. The girl was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder that negatively affected her communication and learning capabilities. While working with her, I realized that normal people are very privileged because they do not know how challenging such a problem can be. This experience made me appreciate the abilities I have and maximize them by helping others as much as I can.
My education journey started in Mexico, where I attended elementary, middle, and high school. However, I relocated to California three months before I finished high school. I was able to finish my high school education in one of the best schools in that State.
