Analysis of Energy Flow
United States relies mostly on the generation of its energy for various economic activities. Due to low petroleum mines in the country, the country mainly imports oil from the oil-producing countries. The charts of energy consumptions and generation in both the 2010 and 2017 are similar in that the primary sources of energy in residential, commercial, and industrial sectors have not changed. The primary sources of energy are natural gas and electricity generation. Besides, both charts are experiencing a high degree of energy produced not being put into efficient use. The amount of energy not put in an efficient and useful use is seen by the portion shown by the proportion of rejected energy in the top right side of the charts. Lastly, it is evident in two charts that electricity generation contributes to the most significant amount of rejected energy in the economy.
