Margaret and Andrew’s Unlikely Union
The Proposal is a contemporary Hollywood film that narrates the story of Margaret; a newspaper editor based in New York. As the manager, Margaret mistreats her juniors by firing them and fails to exhibit the standard qualities of an efficient manager. However, when she is faced with serious deportation threats, she changes her perception and decides to marry Andrew Paxton; a junior officer in her department to redeem herself.

They also message each other whenever Margaret approaches (Fletcher 3:25). At one point, the message was “It’s here” (Fletcher 3:22). She is nicknamed “The Witch” and even Andrew, her right-hand man, uses the title when referring to her (Fletcher 5:49). This shows that the employees either fear her or discern her, probably as a result of her undesirable behavior.
