Analysis of a Project Topic
Although all the topics can be formulated into research questions, some of them are not as precise and may not deliver the excepted results. Selection of the research topic is quite crucial considering that it defines the direction of the success the researcher in question will have at the end of their quest.
The first topic, which relates to the formulation of a Society of Young Engineers Officer Manual, seeks to bring a solution to the aspects of the board members responsibilities. It is important to note that the audiences in this case are well chosen as; they spread from the primary ones to the tertiary level, due to the aspects of elections. More importantly, it addresses a situation that seems well focused given the element of politics that may creep into the society. The audiences in the topic are narrow and are likely to accept the credibility of the member.
The second topic "Imagine No Religion", seems rather vague and the audience is too large to come up with a concrete solution. There are thousands of religions that are on record while others are more of personal developments across the states. While the secondary data may be available on the aspects of religion, they may not support the topic in its entirety. The topic also seems to be driven by a personal frustration rather than a genuine research topic that will benefit more than the researcher. The researcher’s authority is also likely to be under heavy criticism and may not be taken as a credible researcher.
The third topic “How to Study” is quite relevant to the aspect of studying especially with reference to the freshman. There is secondary data that can support the topic to completion and even implementation. However, the audience of choice may not take the researcher as a credible source. Considering that this is an institution with various logistics in the implementation of ant plans, all of which are carried out by the member of the board, it may be difficult to bring to fruition. The fourth topic “Improvements to the Washington Redskins”also seems vague, and the audience may not accord the researcher the credibility to see through the topic.
The third topic is well chosen and addresses a problem that is found with most of the students. It is common that most students do not have the skills to maintain their academic traction through college. Although the students perform well in their high school papers, they tend to fall back once they join college. It is however, crucial that the audiences addressed are from a particular department. This will make it easier to identify the relevant problems that affect the students for the formulation of answers. By focusing the study on the freshmen, it tends to be vague as, there are different scenarios that are presented by the different departments, faculties and even the courses. As such, focusing on a single department or faculty will make the research more focused and easier to come up wi...
