The image shows Kim Kardashian with her sister Khloe together with their Armenian cousins inside the Tsitsemakaberd Memorial Complex. The image is after laying a bouquet of flowers as the commemoration of a decade after the Armenian genocide that claimed 1.5 million people. The Kardashians are of Armenian heritage, and the picture itself speaks volume of their association as Armenian. The image is full of appreciation of art history. Tsitsemakaberd Memorial Complex is a pilgrimage and lots of people go to the building to remember the millions who perished in the genocide. The picture of the Kardashians, together with their cousins standing after their gesture, is more than just commemoration. It is a form of cohesive identity. Largely, it is a reflection of how artwork can bring about cohesive identity, especially of people living far from one another, but brought together by a common issue.
The Tsitsemakaberd Memorial Complex brings out the ethnic ties and history of the Kardashians. They are Armenians, despite largely subscribing to the American culture and values.
