I had the details for my informative paper assignment. I attached a worksheet to help me draft the informative paper, along with some examples for reference. Requirements: I needed to select any contemporary COD-related issue and write an informative, objective essay on that issue. I imagined that I was explaining this issue to someone who had never heard of it before, so I focused on presenting the facts clearly. I avoided personal opinions and remained neutral throughout the essay. I also approached the task as if I were a newspaper reporter, answering the questions of who, what, when, where, and why. This was a standard 5-paragraph essay, formatted in MLA style. I ensured to add transitions to improve the flow of my writing. I remembered not to use first-person language and that I did not need to conduct two personal interviews. It was important to choose a topic that mattered to me, as I would use it for the next paper, the persuasive essay/editorial. Student Instructor Course Date Building an Inclusive Future: Diversity at College of DuPage (COD) Diversity is an important value at the College of DuPage (COD) promoting inclusivity and equity to a wide range of racial origins with different cultural aspects. COD has embraced Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion within the college community to build an inclusive nature. COD has put in place diversity initiatives, civic engagement on diversity and inclusion, and intercultural student activities that promote equity in resource accessibility to enhance inclusivity in the college community. Diversity in any organization is a key component of global growth where people from different cultures learn and share ideas and knowledge from different backgrounds. Like the rest of the world, the COD community embraces and values diversity by ensuring that they develop strategies for protecting diversity. All stakeholders of the college community play a major role in protecting diversity. Students are given equal opportunities in offering services at the college such as leadership positions and leading co-curricular programs. Staff ensure that all students are subjected to equal opportunity across all the college departments such as resource allocations. Embracing diversity at the college helps the students in engaging themselves with the real world's workplace where they interact with people from different races and cultures. Through the policy on diversity and equality, COD can foster the all-rounded development of students through the provision of different learning perspectives and prepare the COD students for real-world scenarios.
