Imperialism and colonization involved the domination of one country by people from a foreign county seeking to gain full control of the colonies’ resources. Imperialism was motivated by both political and economic reasons and the European countries always aimed at expanding their colonies. (Stuchtey 4)
The old imperialism happened as a result of European countries efforts of looking for a direct route to Asia. The commercial revolution created a huge desire and need of the European countries for raw materials and wealth which they acquired from the colonies.
