My First Day in Israel
I had always wanted to visit India since the growing years of my life. To add to this excitement, one day my maternal uncle called me to inform that he would offer me a chance to travel with him. He was someone who had similar interests like me, and he knew about my anxiety to visit India. I thought this trip would give me an opportunity to learn and experience the Indian culture.
I was too excited to ask for details about the trip. However, I later learned that my uncle’s plan was to visit Israel. I was ambivalent, not knowing whether to celebrate or protest since the destination was not what I had expected. Nevertheless, I expressed my gratitude and prepared for the trip.
When we arrived, I was shocked to learn that the country was very different from what I expected it to be. I used to think that only religious people occupied the country. However, that was not the case. Tel Aviv was as beautiful as New York. The streets were as busy as those of New York were. Moreover, I learned that the sidewalks and trains were not as overcrowded as those in New York.
