Global Family Using the Sociological Perspective
The term family has no clear definition as different sources as well as individuals define it different. Its meaning changes for people across space as well as time (Kagitcibasi, 34). Understanding the global family using sociological perspective is seen to provide a general overview of sociological studies as well as perspectives of the family in general. Most people are seen to leave in sort of families and probably think we are experts on the topic of discussion (Kagitcibasi, 35). However, experiencing family life individually, one can hardly get to the understanding of the experiences without a clear understanding as well as appreciate the environment in which it is seen to take part or place. The topic introduces us to the sociological families study attempting to widen the understanding of general families as well as personal relationships.
The term family lacks the set definition as different people view it differently. The meaning is subjected to changes from individuals across the time as well as space. For instance, definitions would vary from small children aged nine years from how I would define it now as well as how a person aged 60. Events such as births and deaths as well as divorces alter the definition of the term. Thus it is easy as well as difficult to set a good definition of the term family (Kagitcibasi, 43). The meaning attached to the term is viewed as a matter of agreements by people as well as collecting varying definitions.
