Don Quixote Poem
Don Quixote is a book first published in 1605 by a Spanish writer Miguel de Cervantes. The book, referred to as the first modern novel, was published in two parts. Mainly it focuses on the adventures of a man whose infatuation with books of chivalry leads him on a path to become a knight errant. The book describes Don Quixote as having been so caught up in reading these books that he spent his days reading from sunrise to sunset with too little sleep and too much reading (Grossman, 21). Either out of losing his mind or influence from these books, Don Quixote decides he will be a knight. This act earns him the name Don Quixote. He recruits his neighbor Sancho into his insane adventure. Don Quixote then embarks on a journey where he performs different acts. Some of these acts are insane and funny, but some are heroic.
