One of the most tenacious parenting theories is the so-called Mozart effect, which argues that listening to music by the Austrian composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart would increase a child's intellect. The idea was promoted by advocates of art education and retailers who sell exclusive recordings of Mozart's works for infants and toddlers. Even some pregnant women went as far as to play. Some pregnant women also went to the extent of playing Mozart tapes on their headphones. And it's not difficult to see how the name of Mozart has been related to accelerated growth.
