Introduction
It is surprising how much good modern technology has done for humanity, and yet the vast majority dare to demonize and smear it. Modern technology, inclusive of the internet, smartphones, and computers has not only reshaped higher education but also availed the world the opportunity to explore the unknowns precipitously in all manner of life. However, I am among the people who are critical of this new phenomenon which is taking the world by storm. Most of the times, I am fixated by screens: scrolling and swiping past multiple articles and videos to acquire superficial knowledge of topics that appeal to my emotions. There is no telling the number of times I have stumbled on conspiracy theories, rumors, and innuendo about celebrities, time-travels, and reincarnations. All this information is often misleading and repulsive but highly addictive to a larger extent. The ability to communicate to people across the globe instantly has introduced me to a platform with opposing viewpoints on what the society has considered absolute truths for centuries; thus, the positive impact of modern technology is overestimated and a bit jarring.
