Instructions:

Paper details: In order to be an effective manager, it is beneficial to first assess your own knowledge, skills and abilities. This assignment will require you to complete a personal SWOT analysis. First, assess your personal strengths and Weaknesses (skills, talents, abilities). What are you good at? What are you not so good at? What do you enjoy doing? What don’t you enjoy doing? Next, identify career opportunities and threats by researching job prospects in the industry you are interested in. You can look at the Bureau of Labor Statistics, or the O*Net database, for career outlook information. Compile this information by writing a 2-3 page business memo. The memo should include a SWOT table containing your personal analysis, with a short 2-3 paragraph explanation of the key findings in the table.
Include 1-2 paragraphs to describe your ideal industry or job position, and what you found as the career outlook for that role. In addition, be sure to outline your five year career goals and what you need to do to achieve those goals.

Personal SWOT Analysis Memo
SWOT analysis is a crucial resource that should be incorporated into the planning and strategic frame work of organizations. The SWOT process involves the identification of both internal and external factors (negative or positive) for the organization under consideration. Specifically, this implies that it points out the weaknesses and strengths of individuals or an organization. As a manager, it is important to utilize SWOT analysis, for it allows deep understanding of career threats, strengths, weaknesses and career opportunities. Indeed, this understanding acts as a strong weapon, which is used by an individual to improve their performance and achieve desirable results (Wied and Ebers 22). The paper seeks to identify and analyze personal weaknesses, career opportunities, strengths and career threats. In addition, it will highlight career goals to be achieved by the end of five years.

From the above SWOT analysis, it is clear there are many positive internal factors that facilitative the achievement of personal goals. In addition, there are limited weaknesses meaning the chances of achieving one’s goals as a marketing manager are real (Pahl and Richter 17). The only requirement is to understand the strengths and weaknesses. An individual will go on and capitalize on strengths while minimizing personal weaknesses.
At the same time, from the table, it is evident that the external factors overwhelm threats, implying that this job opportunity is favorable (Pahl and Richter 21). An organization needs to adjust appropriately to the suppression of these threats. The latter can be avoided by developing new strategies and skills aimed at benefiting the organization at large. Contributions from individuals can also lead to minimization of weaknesses and threats.
