The life of the Chinese has improved immensely over time. The many quality of life indicators including life expectancy, literacy levels of citizens, literacy rates, infant mortality, and the amount of population under the poverty margin depict this (Shambaugh 55). Currently, China is ranked number 91 amongst the 195 nations represented in the UN development indicators index. Hence, China has undergone immeasurable social progress (Shambaugh 55). However, the developing life quality has led to challenges for China’s future. This is because despite the Chinese society improving over the last thirty years, there is a treadmill of unsatisfactory, being time frustrated, and advocating for constant improvement. However, the quality of life has not improved for everyone; hence, there is an increasing social differentiation.
