Prospero's Transformation in "The Tempest"
"The Tempest" is a film whose primary theme is transformation. The director of the movie ensures that the subject of change is carried throughout the film. Towards the end, the main character Prospero also undergoes a complete transformation. At the start of the play, she is a vengeful person who does not hesitate to use her power to punish all those who had wronged her. However, towards the end of the film, Prospero not only forgives her enemies but also uses her powers to help and liberate them. Moreover, she also denounces some of her magic tools, an indication that she has undergone transformation ("The Tempest 2014 Full HD Movie").
The film takes place in an enraptured island, the scene portrays the change in people. Prospero and her daughter were living on the island after they were shipped off because of a heartrending overthrow from power. She had carried the weight of the betrayal for many years. All along she felt deep anger and buttress, such that when she got information that her evil doers were headed home from a wedding via the sea, she could not control her urge to revenge. She uses her magic tools to send a Tempest to hold them hostage at the sea. Her intention was to torture them so that they could feel the bitterness and angered that she harnessed. As the storm grew large, the mood of the occupants in the boat changed drastically from calm to chaotic ("The Tempest 2014 Full HD Movie").
