Role of Artist in a Society
An artist is any person involved in single or different activities related to demonstrating an art, generating art or practicing the arts (Will, 5) . Although the roles of the artist are almost similar all over the world, in some areas their function differs about the briefs, political and social-economic status of different individuals from a different region to another. For example, in Bernini artist play different roles in the society that plays different functions depending on the time and the function of the art at that particular time of the performance (Will, 5) .
When a different artist is performing in a given society, they engage the different audience in a very personal and different ways. When an artist is performing art, it helps to appreciate our historical conditions and humanity we live in and gives a sense of reality and if we need to change or not. In the above case, the artist composes artist work that is used to show the current generation their past lives lived by their ancestors and compare it with the modern lives so as to maintain their tradition of the given community (Becker, Kathy and Wiens, 34).
In other instances, the art is used as a medium of confronting political, social economic or personal issues achieved through criticism of the current status of the world compared to the future one.
Finally, artist can also play a role in creating or helping to create good art, a good art it’s the one that reflects reality with no fiction, also promote project awareness of the reality and gives remedies on how to transform those conditions (Will, 5).
