Samsung is an international conglomerate firm of Korean descent. Its headquarters is in Seoul's Samsung town. It is the head affiliate for numerous commercial dealings. It started as a trading enterprise but expanded to include other products that propelled it into international recognition. Although it initially dealt with products such as securities, food manufacturing and textiles among others, it gained entry into the electronic market in the wake of 1960. Michell (21) observes that Samsung is the current international giant in the electronic industry. Some of its subsidiaries are Samsung Heavy Industries, Samsung Electronics and Samsung C&T and Engineering. In terms of financial rewards, it is one of the firms with the highest returns in the world today.
It engages in the manufacture of communication devices such as mobile phones and other consumer electronics with presence in the whole world. Consumer products range from Bluetooth speakers, tablets, Blu-rays, tablets, camcorders, home theaters and DVD players. Home appliances such as dishwashers, refrigerators, microwave ovens, chrome devices and washing machines are products from Samsung electronics. Similarly, some storage devices such as memory cards and drives alongside some hospital products are some of its diverse products that do not fall under communication technology.
Products
The most common products from Samsung electronics are the Samsung galaxy note series. The galaxy is one of the close competitors of the iPhone from Apple, Inc. Others include the S8500 Wave smartphone and I9000 galaxies which won the EISA Awards in Europe for being the best social media and smart phones of the time. Some of its products are an improvement of the windows phone and LiMo. Lee (35) observes that the windows phone and the android/tablets are some of the latest products in the market. The galaxy from Samsung Electronics is one of the best-selling products in the market today that competes favorably with Apple in the smartphone series. Sony electronics is the other threat in the electronic industry. However, Samsung's prowess has made it take over the Sony electronics; thus, making it decline in terms of consumer market and sales volume.
In the recent years, Samsung products especially smart phones got a positive consumer response in terms of sales in countries such as those of Middle East and India. Its wide range of products is beyond twenty different smart phone options. Therefore, it is a better choice for many buyers due to its reliability, apt availability and timely customer care. The Samsung galaxy is different from other smart phones owing to its distinctive features that place it at a better competitive advantage over others. Other features in the galaxy S5 includes fast speed Wi-Fi to keep the customer updated and a powerful megapixel camera. It also comes in a number of colors such as white, gold, blue and black to enhance consumer choice. Additionally, it is capable of resisting some causes of damage such as water and dust.
Prices
The prices of many Samsung products are quite high as compared to those from other firms in the same industry. However, their durability makes the consumer's more willing to purchase them as opposed to other cheaper gadgets in the market today. In some countries where currency is quite weak, consumers often complain of Samsung's products as being beyond the reach of the common citizen. The case is mainly prevalent in third world countries that struggle with unstable currencies whose value depreciate regularly.
Place
Currently, Samsung products are available in almost all parts of the world. Although the firm originates in Korea, many countries feel its presence. Apart from the advertisements, people get to know of Samsung due to the sponsorships it offers to the community's groups. Apart from building affiliate firms in other countries such as Japan, India, Singapore and the United States of America among other countries, it conducts product promotions in all the regions where its products sell. It is available in almost all countries in the West. Similarly, it has spread its wings to third world countries where it has got a good response from the consumers. However, the largest consumer market lies in the United States of America as compared to other countries.

Samsung engages in active sales campaigns to promote awareness of its products. Similarly, the promotional activities not only improve the sales volume which translate into profits, but also promote brand recognition among potential customers. Therefore, it spends a significant amount of money in the promotional campaigns. Its advertising budget is so large that it traverses the Gross Domestic Product of some growing nations. It features its products on television adverts and other digital media platforms in almost all channels in many countries. Similarly, it embraces cinema ads to increase the chances of more people seeing it. Moreover, it is a common phenomenon to find Samsung advertisement of billboards in towns across the world.
It sponsors events such as sports and artistic endeavors that engage in massive publicity. For instance, it features its products on Sydney Opera House in New York City, and its ads are common in the Radio City Music Hall.
