Strategies to Prevent Future Re-Occurrence covid-19 and other Pandemics
Covid-19 pandemic has been a strange disease that has brought everything to a standstill, with the scientist scratching their heads harder to realize the mitigating it. This concept paper reveals the strategies that should be used in case of any future pandemic occurrence and this covid-19 without making everything remain standstill. These strategies are proven to be effective by scientists (Munir et al.).
The usage of facemasks together with their technology is one of the strategies. The traditional masks are ineffective since they cannot trap the virus. The latest masks made up of copper materials can trap and immobilize the virus. A solution containing Nanosilver should have been used to rejuvenate and disinfect the masks since it contains antiviral and anti-microbial components. Once the masks have been sprayed with the materials, they can be reused and serve to possess sustainability protection, environmentally friendly due to being nonpolluting, and preventing people from the pathogens. The most remarkable improvement in the mask development is the usage of the electro-spun PVDF filter. The mask is charged electrostatically charged through the corona discharge and results in the highest efficiency of 90% compared to 50% of the N95 masks. This technology should be replicated to the sanitizers through the infusion of the copper and silver particles that are nanoparticles. When applied, they form a thin layer protective of the infections and fades away when washed with soap. This technology needs to be used since it is effective (Khosla, Arshiya, and Gaurav Verma).
