The Impact of Toys
Most toys play significant roles in the upbringing of young children. They are vital tools that help foster the mental, physical, emotional and social development of both boys and girls. They stimulate and develop children’s fantasies, thoughts, creativity and social play with other children. There are many types of toys, but educational ones are usually highly recommended since they improve children’s intellect, memory and social skills. Outdoor toys encourage playing, which is essential to healthy child development. It is always crystal clear that children gain a strong foundation for learning through play.
Toys and Their Influence
It is evident that toys used by children of different genders vary. Boys and girls usually have different toys, which have dissimilar impacts on their development. Boys’ toys contain the rating as violent, exciting, or somewhat dangerous whereas girls’ toys are often linked to physical attractiveness, domestic skills, and nurturance. There are also toys that can neither be categorized as girls’ or boys’ toys. Such toys are mostly educational and often develop children’s cognitive, physical, and artistic skills. In accordance with the viewed photographs, it is noticeable that boys had more automobiles, military equipment such as guns, and more temporal items, for example watches, in their toys collection. Girls, on the other hand, had more dolls, doll houses, and domestic items in their collection of toys. It is also evident that children ask for more stereotyped toys, depending on their gender.
When I look back at my childhood, I realize that my toys collection majorly consisted of toy cars and trucks, action figures, and trivial puzzles. I enjoyed spending the better part of my time playing with the action figures since I never skipped a day without watching wrestling. Though my mother was not for it, fearing that I could start fighting at school, I only replicated the skills I watched when playing with my action figures. Playing with the toy cars and trucks, on the other hand, were majorly influenced by what my father, who was a truck driver, spent most of his time doing. My mother always encouraged me to get the puzzles over with fastness so she could purchase others. She used to talk about things to do with the development of my brain, which was essential if I wanted to top the class. I later came to realize that the puzzles were also a great way to free up some of her time when I was kept busy since the more the interactive the toy was, the more it stimulated and kept me engaged.
By viewing the differences in the toys that boys and girls played with, one would realize that they significantly influenced gender roles. Girls enjoy playing with the domestic items like sinks, stoves and dishes, pretty much what they observe their mothers or other older females doing. Girls with younger sib...
