To what extent is the use of animals in scientific research acceptable?
In conducting scientific study, scientists frequently use animals as test subjects. Despite the fact that research ethics codes state that the use of humans is unjustifiable. The use of animals On the basis of animal rights, this is still unjust and wrong.
It is common to use animals as experiment media in the pharmacy industry. Scientists have to ensure that the new drug they discovered is safe to consume for people. Animals are regarded as perfect experiment objects because they have similar reactions as humans (lund 2014). Another reason for using animals as research objects is the research ethics code prohibiting scientists from using humans for experiments. To begin with such as, animal testing should be outlawed in an effort to guard the rights of animals (R. McMahon2006). In other words, experimenting on animals violates their rights. In many ways, animals and humans are alike. To begin with, their biological complexity is similar. It might well be considered abuse by some. Because of the benefits that humans derive from it, it goes unnoticed every day.
Advances in medicine are overshadowing testing on animals. No product or medicine, however, makes it acceptable. Because humans are a more powerful species, we do not have the privilege to treat animals as if they are unimportant.
