Student's Name Professor's Name Health Care DD Month YYYY ACCESS INDIVIDUAL NEEDS AND PREFERENCES Before I started working with JG, I had to get permission from his parents. He gave me the authorization to advocate for JG and support his ways of interacting with the community. On the care plan, I outlined the goals of the program. I recorded how would support and make him feel accepted. This would be achieved by building a close personal relationship with him. The care plan also showed the responsibility of each person in J's life. Since each person's treatment is different, it was necessary to outline these responsibilities and make the concerned people know of their duties in J's life. This would eventually help him improve his social interaction skills. Regarding baking, initial risk assessment has been carried out with JG to minimize the possibility of allergy, or accident in the kitchen. Although he could reply to their question, he still had a communication problem because he could only use me as a medium of communication. This was a significant improvement, and the care program was seeming to be working. The only reason why he could communicate with me is that he had become fond of me. The communication style which had been established in the care plan for JG was rewarding him with access to the desired activity. I would reward him by dancing since he enjoyed it.It also included the use of gestures by pointing or nodding. JG received a comprehensive assessment when he first moved in. His neuropsychological functions, contextual factors like the family functioning and quality of life, language and intelligence were examined (Ozonoff, Goodlin & Solomon 523-540). The parents and school officials were involved in this assessment to provide information about JG. When interacting with service users, I maintain trust and confidence between them and myself.
