History of Imperialism: European Governments and their Colonists
Imperialism is an economic and political system that was initiated by European governments in the 19th and 20th centuries to validate the political and economic activities history of the western countries within their boundaries. Researchers widely supported the concept of imperialism in the 19th century viewed the Imperialism of European governments as a 'sphere of influence' that can be created devoid of necessarily establishing or forming a legal and formal power by a single government over another nation. However, the notion of an empire may be extended ‘formally if necessary and informally if possible’. According to Kuzio, “imperialism did a great role in the world as dominant well-resourced nations pursued to assume the practice and take possession of territories in foreign parts for various fiscal and economic motives” (518-520).
