Relationship between WWI and WWII
The First World War (also called WWI) was battled from 1914 to 1918 whereas the Second World War (also called WWII) was fought from 1939 to 1945. Both the wars became the biggest military battles in human history. These two conflicts incorporated military alliances between various groups of states.
WWI (popular as the Great War, the War to End All Wars, or the First World War) was based on Europe. The world worrying countries were split into two groups that include ‘The Allied Powers’ and ‘The Central Powers’. The Allied Powers group comprised of Russia, Japan, France, Italy, Britain and the United States. The Central Powers group comprised of Turkey, Germany, Bulgaria and Austria-Hungary (Cave 2010).
World War I began as a result of hostility and conflicts between the big European powers during the 40 years contribute to fight. Imperialism, alliances, nationalism, and militarism contributed major causes in the war too (Reynolds 2012). The trigger that initiated WWI was the brutal assassination of Archduke, Franz Ferdinand, of Australia and his wife, Sophie on 1914. In contrast, WWII, in Europe started on September 1939, at the time the Neville Chamberlain, the Prime Minister of Britain, affirmed war on Germany when Hitler declined his conquest of Poland (Cave 2010).
The most evident of these include technological inventions of the two periods. Both wars led to the requirement of advanced technology and weapons, and, as a result, this production aided the economies of the states producing the arms (Reynolds 2012).
Differences in the manner the Wars was Fought
Although both conflicts were atrocious in many deaths the caused, the Second World War was far worse, due to the sheer numbers and the loss of innocent lives. Comparatively, World War II witnessed 6.5 times the number of persons die than World War I, consisting persons from Holocaust and the releasing of atomic bombs (Reynolds 2012).
