Sharecropper Contracts in Farming Operations (Essay Sample)

Instructions:

The task was to read a document about a sharecropper contract and weigh in on whether or not you would recommend entering the agreement.
I would not recommend entering into this agreement. The terms and conditions are unfair to the sharecropper, and it is clear that the contract is set up in a way that benefits the landlord more than the sharecropper. There are many obligations placed on the sharecropper, and if he fails to meet them, he is penalized. Additionally, the sharecropper is not allowed to participate in all aspects of the farming operation, and if he does not comply with the landlord's demands, he faces penalties. This contract is not helpful for either the landlord or the sharecropper, and it is unfair to the sharecropper.

Additionally, after enough harvesting, he must pay for a sizeable piece
