SURREALISM ART ANALYSIS
The surrealism movement started in the 19th century, after the end of after the end of Dadaism. Some of the famous surrealist artists are such as Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, Max Ernst, Andre Breton, among others. The aim of surrealism artists was to talk about the things that happen on a daily basis but express it in a creative way (King & Elliott 420). Surrealist artists created unrealistic images made up of everyday objects that allowed them to express the things that were in their conscious. Modernism, on the other hand, started in the late 19th century and has existed ever since.
For this assignment, I decided to create a surrealist image. The 21st century has seen a massive increase in the level of technology. This day almost every member of the community has a smartphone. The use of the internet is also easily accessible to almost every part of the world. These two factors have led to the extensive use of social media (Cohen & Elizabeth 9). In fact, a research done in the year 2017 showed that about 2.46 billion people use the social media. Some of the platforms used are such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Skype and many other platforms.
Social media has been quite useful in helping people relate to each other. However, it has also had its negative effects. Most of the people in social media live a lie. Majority of the people try to portray that they live a glamorous life full of happiness and riches (Cohen & Elizabeth 8). However, most of the time this is not the case, in real life; the characters are facing numerous difficulties that they try to cover up on the social media platform. Hence, of the social media characters live a double life.
