On 8th April from 8:00-9: 00 am, I started practicing calmness by breathing in and out for about 5 minutes. I closed my eyes and held my breath for about 5 minutes as I concentrate on increasing the awareness of my feeling. I used 10 minutes trying to identify some of the negative thoughts that arose my emotions. I also used 10 minutes trying to convince myself to accept different forms of unpleasant feelings. After convincing myself to accept different forms of unpleasant feeling I used another 5 minutes beating my heart slowly and tenderly as I say the following words ‘it is well.’ I realized success in breathing in and out, and I also realized success in increasing awareness of my feeling. I also failed to convince myself to accept and tolerate an unpleasant feeling. As sometimes I find it hard to control myself when I am tricked by some scenarios. However, with my new habit of beating my heart as I pronounce the word ‘it is well’ is helping a great deal in calming my emotions and thus reducing overreaction. Finally, By the help of my close friends, parent and guiding and counseling professional I strongly believe this journey would be a success.
