Assignment, free write- Biology
9th February 2015
Topic: Free Write- Biology
The chapters focus on how humanity is connected to nature. We must take strides to understand our roles in the universe since our bodies are not exclusively ours. Scientifically, the mitochondria and other organelles have their origin from other existing organisms.
Organisms survive without necessarily the help of other organisms. This is not the case with bacteria; they cannot thrive in absence of others. Ideally, bacteria are interconnected to a point that some even live inside others. Therefore, interconnections on earth start even with the smallest of the living organisms. This generates a special interest whereby human beings freely interact with nature.
There are three levels of technology in medicine; nontechnology, halfway technology and high technology. They are all crucial for treatments of diseases. Nontechnology helps patients with diseases that are not well understood. It provides a short remedy for the treatments and not total cure. In halfway technology, a death for the disease can be postponed until we understand its full course. However, high technology gives a quick remedy for the disease. Ultimately, it is vital to give credit to high technology through basic research, since it is most effective in curing.
Human beings try to evade death by all means. This is despite of the fact that it is part of our lives. Research has revealed that we can cure diseases but not with intentions to evade death. Therefore, it is crucial if death is discussed and ways to prolong lives through proper medications outlined.
