Security in colleges, universities and other learning institution has been a major concern. There are many insecurity concerns raised in recent past about criminals going in schools and attacking the innocent, defenseless and harmless students. . The perpetrators are mostly outsiders, not to say that there are no security threats from within the institutions. In a society which many feel owning a gun is an assurance to safety, while weapon regulation has become a serious tremendous debate. This leaves school institutions and policy makers with headache regarding to this matter. There are many sources of threats within the school fraternity but to counter insecurity by issuing weapons to students may spell disastrous action.
