The article on Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder by Begue & Laurent et al. was presented on the British Journal of Psychology in 2013. The primary objective of the experiment was to make observation on the role played by alcohol consumers on their self –perceived attractiveness. The research was experimental since the researchers controlled the behavior of the participants. If the study would be correlational, the researchers have no control over the participants. An independent variable stands unaccompanied and is not likely to be changed by other variables during measurement, such as the age. One the other hand, the dependent variable largely depends on different factors. For instance, test scores can be considered to be a dependent variable since it could change, and this depends on several factors, such as how long did the student study. In the study, alcohol is an independent variable, and attractiveness is the dependent variable.
