American Culture and Sports
The United States prides itself as the most diverse country in the world. It has a long history of accepting immigrants from all over the world. The United States economic vitality is a result of diversity, since the migrants act as labor for different sectors and bring different innovations and business ideas. However, integrating the immigrants into the society remains a major challenge since most of them come from cultures that view the western life as erroneous. There are different ways of integrating migrants in the society, but participating in American football is one of the most effective methods.
Participating in organized sporting events that advocate for equality in the society is a proper starting point in the struggle to integrate migrant in the American society. Similarly, sport unites people, promotes health and happiness. People from different countries go to the United States with hopes of a better life, but upon arriving, they find it difficult to conform to the American life (Agergaard & Sine). Some struggle with the law and end up in prison while others are unable to connect socially with other residents. Participating in sports and athletes enables the migrants to meet citizens who have lived in the country for many years and get to learn about the American society.
