For Love and Money: Romance Tourism in Jamaica analysis
In their publication, Pruitt & Lafont (1995) argue that a lot of Euro-American women tourists, seeking to challenge the limitations of traditional gender identity, travel to Jamaica in pursuit of romance with indigenous men. In contrast, through exaggeration of the aspects of their gender competencies, the local men convey the women tourists' glorification of indigenous customs and virility.
