While introducing her speech, Mrs. Kilbourne expresses her disappointment for not generating a positive impact on the subject of women using their bodies to advertise products. She further discourages business enterprises, especially those who promote by using women’s bodies to market and promote their products. Although these individuals use photo-shopped images, the practice discredits the feminine gender by infringing on their self-esteem, which weakens their position as human beings.
In Mrs. Kilbourne's introduction, she emphasizes the issue of women losing their self-esteem, more so when advertisers use their bodies to promote their products.
