Once again, here are some questions you may want to consider: What practices create a stratified workplace? How are some groups of people exploited and how is that exploitation argued as just? You may want to use as your starting place a particular industry like sex work, serving, cleaning, etc. Use your texts, lesson notes, and scholarly materials from your own research. Name Institution Class Date Injustice in the Workplace Analysis Injustice in the workplace occurs in several diverse forms and means and may impact young employees who are new to the workforce and those that have been employed for a long time and are almost retiring. Injustice in the workplace against employees may unfold under facades like the workers' availability, skill, and lack of education, among other influences. Nonetheless, it appears that women are more impacted by the injustice issue. Employees must be entitled to their fundamental rights for justice in the workplace. These rights include the right to sick-off days, equality in the workplace, work safety, and guaranteed salary, among others. There is a lot of discrimination between social classes and gender in the workforce, which allows for injustices to occur (Michailidis, Evie, & Cropley,524). Organizations need to guarantee an environment where workers observe fairness and interrelate constructively and positively; however, gender discrimination, patriarchy, and sexual harassment have permitted and established injustice in places of work. The issue of gender discrimination has been perversive, especially in workplaces. Gender prejudice comes in varying ways, but generally, it means that a worker is treated less favorably or differently due to their sexual orientation, sex, or gender identity. Employees may face discrimination due to their gender or ethnicity (Roscigno & Vincent, 6). for instance, women can encounter prejudice at work differently from their male counterparts. A woman might be skipped for promotion, assessed more ruthlessly, paid less, or harassed as men are deemed to be better fits for higher-ranking jobs at workplaces. Gender discrimination may include women being offered low-paying positions or hired for some jobs that men would not be hired to do, the subordinate roles. For a long time, patriarchy has been the operational structure of most families. as a result, patriarchy has been incorporated into different phases of life, including the workforce. Mostly, men are seen to dominate authoritative positions even at work. Although women have long-matched men's qualifications, men are still selected for managerial positions and promotions over their peers of the other sex. Looking at the status of women in society, they are deemed to be men's "property." Women often make decisions that await men's approval; hence, they face injustice at work and home (Zuhera et al.,5). Women are linked to domestic chores and deemed incapable, making them not get promotions. Patriarchy is evident in the workforce as males dominate even as they do similar tasks as their female counterparts and get higher compensation. Through a comprehensive patriarchal system, women are subordinated in most workplaces where their male counterparts have stayed in power for eternity. Sexual harassment is characterized as unwanted sex-associated acts deemed offensive by the victim. Sexual harassment comprises unwanted non-verbal and verbal sexual acts and unwelcomed physical acts which are hard for a victim to handle. Sexual harassment can also intersect with other kinds of abuse and prejudice for age, sexual orientation, ethnicity, or race. This form of harassment in the workplace is known to bring a vast individual effect on the victim, especially women, who, at most, are the victims (Roscigno & Vincent, 6).
